Jesus Got A Place Down South

Beyond the hero ‘stage’, things are much quieter.  You know, Ulysses settles down and retired with  his Mrs, a few kids, and a little block of land with a few sheep and chooks.  Pretty boring when compared to strapping yourself to a mast, warding off the Sirens and stabbing Cyclopes in the eyeball! No one wants to talk about that.  Look at the stories about Jesus Christ and what may have actually happened. Where he didnt die on the cross, but instead a plot was launched to get him out of there, and same thing, he ended up somewhere down south with a Mrs, kids and a quiet retired life.  I was reading something the other day on another interpretation for the Jews that Jesus took the place of the poor old goat they used for a scapegoat.  No more goats had to die after Jesus took all the blame with him.

If Jesus did escape and settle down down south, that would not work for the hero story would it?  So lets call that a conspiracy. What about the story of Hitler.  Again, its better he died horribly in his bunker, rather than the whispers that he might have lived out his days basking in the sun of an estate in the Argentinian countryside.  Ooops. That would ruin the heroic movement of destroying him in that bunker and prove that evil wins well and that the so called allies did not complete their job properly. Some even say that it was people high up in those allied countries who assisted him to get out for various complicated reasons. Who are we to believe? Who will we choose to believe and what will be the ‘story’ we are fed and why?  The bad guy not only got away but had a wonderful life into old age.  So it goes.  The story of Homer of Achilles is very interesting one also of a hero death, but no one speaks of the rest of the story about Achilles where he called back from the underworld and said, hey.. I have to tell you, it wasn’t worth it.  Mum said, die in this war and die a hero, and if you do not go to fight, you will be remembered for as long as your tombstone takes to crumble, but die at war, you will be remembered forever.  He was calling back to say, death was crap down here. Would rather have grown old.  Its a story yes, a fiction but the hollywood movie only spoke of him as a hero, not the other bit of course.

Its like modern media - its like propaganda, we are only going to tell you the part we want you to know to shut you up, to keep you in a consumer frame of mind, in a state where you are constantly LONGING and lusting for something, something we keep telling you we can sell  you. Hollywood, Amazon, Facebook, Google Youtube, whatever. You dont get to know about being satiated. You dont get to know about how to not want, how to not be miserable, how to be at peace and not be be longing all the time. We want you hungry, we want you to think we can feed you.  All this is complete and utter nonsense and yet underpins the entire concept of a consumerist society, materialism, control, and power, whether its done through capitalism, religion, socialism or communism it matters not. Its the same stance against you, to keep you hungry. To starve you of a sense of being satisfied and in love with your world, and to feel you are full, and have plenty to give to yourself as well as others. To keep you hungry is to have power over you. Or equally as nefarious, to somehow make you think that its okay for you to be treated like crap by corrupt lords, through the manipulation of an ancient myth.  Look at the Innana myth.
